The Atheist Times is published by the Atheists’ Union, a small non-profit organization headquartered in Washington State, USA.
The main purpose of the Atheist Times is to provide a summary of current news that we believe to be of interest to atheists, agnostics, secularists, and all others who are interested in the atheist perspective.
As well as news, the Atheist Times publishes editorials, op-ed pieces, and feature articles that explore a wide variety of topics from an atheist and/or secularist point of view. We welcome unsolicited submissions. At this time we cannot pay authors for articles published.
The Atheist Times is in its early stages of formation at present. We are a very small organization, made up of volunteers who all have other full-time occupations. As a consequence, we are making slow, but steady progress towards the full vision for the website. Among the features we intend to have online in the near future are blogs, a forum, and the ability for community members to create their own pages (similar to MySpace and FaceBook).
One of the main goals of the Atheist Times is to foster and empower a sense of community among atheists, secularists, and agnostics everywhere. To that end, we want the website to enable and encourage the active involvement of all its users. We welcome your input!
